PPE Health and Safety Regulations
If you are an employer and your employees perform work that could pose a risk to their health or safety, the law requires you to provide adequate PPE. PPE means personal protective equipment and is available to your employees to protect them from possible damage when other measures cannot eliminate this potential risk.
Of course, every responsible company wants to limit any threat to its employees, but as a legal requirement, failure to comply can have serious consequences. You never want to think about major accidents at work, but a healthy touch of realism with protection disposable face masks is very important because if you don't protect your employees you could be held responsible for someone's injury, hospital visits, or worse.
PPE can cover a wide variety of items, including high-visibility clothing, sturdy work clothing such as steel boots, or accessories such as helmets. It is an element that helps counter the potentially harmful effects of equipment, materials, or processes when they are an integral part of the job role and therefore cannot be completely avoided.
After the risk assessment, you must provide healthy work clothing and PPE deemed necessary to protect your workers. In this example, you might consider providing a high-visibility jacket or vest, a protective hat and shoes, gloves, and perhaps even waterproof clothing.
The rules for personal safety equipment in the workplace mean that you not only have to deliver the goods, but you are responsible for their suitability. You must ensure that the product delivered meets its intended purpose and is properly maintained and stored.
